Someone ran over our mail box post!

It happens. But, clearly a new one was needed.

I retrieved leftover 4x4s from building the pool deck supports from my stockpile.

After measuring and cutting to size, I marked the cutouts for the two to fit together. Then used the mitre saw and jig saw to cut out prices for removal with the hammer and chisel.

Wrapping up, I cut 45 degree angles into the top of the post and both ends of the cross piece. then screwed them together with deck screws.

It’s a pretty small job really, but it was also hot as hell today. So I jumped directly into the pool after picking up.
